Case sharing: Endoport resection of glioma in the deep basal ganglia of the left frontal lobe in the neurosurgery department of Chongqing University Affiliated Cancer Hospital
Publish Date: 2025/7/4
With the increasing development of various new technologies and instruments, the minimally invasive concept of neurosurgery is gradually being realized. Contemporary neurosurgery has developed into minimally invasive neurosurgery under the guidance of minimally invasive concepts. Minimally invasive neurosurgery requires surgeons to minimize iatrogenic interference and damage to the patient's brain tissue during surgery, keeping the patient's body in a stable internal environment. Through smaller incisions, the lesion can be cleared to the maximum extent possible, minimizing systemic and local inflammatory reactions, in order to achieve the best therapeutic effect. Director Yang Haifeng of the Department of Neurosurgery at Chongqing University Affiliated Cancer Hospital is dedicated to researching the precision surgical treatment system for brain tumors and the mechanisms of brain tumor occurrence and development, continuously studying and promoting the concept and technology of minimally invasive surgery in neurosurgery. Director Yang's team recently completed a case of left deep frontal basal ganglia glioma using Endoport technology. The surgical results are as follows: The tumor in this case is located in the deep left frontal region of the patient, and cortical anatomy involves motor and language areas. In line with the concept of minimally invasive surgery, Director Yang Haifeng's team completed the entire surgery under the protection of Endoport channel, maximizing the protection of the patient's important cortical function! This case of tumor resection also reflects the trend of gradual integration of neurosurgery anatomy, concepts, techniques, and exploratory spirit!
